At the Oatlands Dental Lounge we use the Cone Beam CT Scanner to obtain amazingly clear scans and images of patients’ teeth, whether we need to view a singular tooth or the entire jaw.
As well as giving high resolution results, the Cone Beam CT Scanner has a faster processing time than a standard X-ray machine and uses a much lower dose of radiation. The other advantage is that the images show the different kinds of tissue such as gum and jaw bone so it can even be used for diagnosing infections, tumours and issues in the jaw muscle.
Thanks to its accuracy and ability to take images from various different angles, we can diagnose and assess issues, clearly demonstrate problems to patients and monitor the progress of treatments.
The scan process only takes around half an hour and we require you to remove any metal items of jewellery prior to it. We then send you the scan results and our report a few days later.
