Approximately five thousand people in the UK are diagnosed each year with oral cancer. As with all cancers, early detection means early treatment. This is another reason why keeping up with your regular dental checks is so important. Your trained dentist is trained to look for irregularities that might be an early warning and will offer advice and referral to a specialist, if necessary.
As part of routine examinations, we do a mouth cancer screening for all of our patients.
